love and hate

As a white looking American (Hispanic / European) I was concerned about going to Charlottesville, VA. due to the tensions regarding the violent protesters that had displayed a most heinous crime against anti-protesters. 


 As the universe would have it, I drove into Charlottesville via the Robert E. Lee Memorial Highway.

 Heather Heyer Park was the name written on the sign under Rober E. Lee's monument to honor her.

 met some lovely people while in Charlottesville, these guys were kind of enough to give me some time to chat with them, funny thing that all four of us where hesitant about going to Charlottesville because of our skin color...

 Fear and hesitation almost had me miss out on an amazing opportunity to connect with people and most importantly to contribute, although it may not be much, I was moved by the people from New Zealand and Australia, and I realized that even though it is just some chalk on the floors, the message moves people to communicate and unite, forever grateful for that...
